  • New Management Team of the University of Gothenburg Complete

    [16 Oct 2017] Vice-Chancellor Eva Wiberg has now finalised the University of Gothenburg's new management team. Current Head of Division Anna Lindholm will take over as university director. Göran Landberg, director of the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine, will serve as new deputy vice-chancellor responsible for issues regarding research. Fredrika Lagergren, head of the Department of Applied Information Technology, has been appointed deputy vice-chancellor responsible for issues regarding outreach and cooperation, a newly established post at the University. They will enter their new positions at the turn of the year.

  • Ethiopia: Need for improved reliability of electricity supply

    [13 Oct 2017] Energy is arguably one of the major challenges in developing countries. Much research has been done on energy production, consumption and access, however energy reliability has been given less focus. Tensay Hadush, a doctoral candidate in economics at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg, focuses his thesis on Ethiopian households¿ preferences for reliable electricity supply and behavioral response to block based electricity tariffs.
